TORONTO — A recent Harris Decima survey, commisioned by Restylane®, the world’s number one selling dermal filler, reveals that a shocking 64 per cent of Canadian women over 40 would hesitate to leave the house without makeup, with 32 per cent refusing to face the world bare.
This astonishing view is shared by Canadian women from coast-to-coast with British Columbian women being slightly more confident with only 59 per cent being hesitant to leave the house without makeup. By national standards, Quebec women surveyed proved to be the least confident to go out without makeup. The survey also reveals 53 per cent of Canadian women say the main reason they wear makeup is to look rested and refreshed with 30 percent being most concerned about tired looking eyes as they age. These findings inspired Restylane® to challenge two Canadian women in their forties to undergo a 30-day Restylane® Make Under and lifestyle overhaul, to give them the freedom to face the world bare—with no makeup.

About the Restylane® Makeup Dependency Survey
Harris/Decima interviewed 1,515 Canadian women 18 and older, of which 1,123 were 40 and older through teleVox, the company’s national telephone omnibus survey. These data were gathered between August 14th and August 31st, 2008. A sample of the size has a margin of error of +/- 2.5%, 19 times out of 20.
